The technical differences of the hair transplant procedure are segmented into two categories, namely, the FUT (follicular unit transplant) and the FUE (follicular unit extraction). These differences are in the mode of the harvesting/extracting the hair grafts only and remaining the steps of the dissection, slitting and implantation are all same in both the procedure. The FUT involves the harvesting the strip of the skin from the safe donor portion, whereas the FUE is facilitated with the extraction of single hair root at a single time by using the punching machine both from the safe and unsafe donor area. Follicular Unit Hair Transplant (FUT): Follicular unit hair transplant is a hair restoration technique which implies the shifting of natural occurring groups of hair follicles/grafts containing the sebaceous gland and fine vellus hairs from their origin of the safe donor areas, usually the back and sides of the scalp (resistant of DHT hormone) to the bald portion via the excision of the strip of the skin. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE): Follicular Unit Extraction is a modified technique of hair restoration which applies the punching machine to extract the individual hair grafts, one-by-one target both safe and unsafe donor area and commonly used for the body hair transplant, i.e., beard, eyebrows, moustache, chest hair transplant, etc.
